Representative Cases

TCF Bank v. Community Partners, LLC2015 IL App (1st) 133693:  Lead Counsel in the Appellate Court successfully defending a tax deed and upholding the validity of the Illinois Property Tax Code.

Bittorf v. De Kalb County Collector; 2017 IL App (2d) 160483: Lead Counsel in the Appellate court, successful in securing the repayment of a tax purchaser's investment and clarifying the operation of various provisions in the Property Tax Code.

G.B. Management v. Jerome Sirt; 333 Ill.App.3d 355 (2002): Lead Counsel in case where Appellate Court affirmed circuit court ruling voiding a tax deed to a commercial enterprise in Illinois.

Estate of John Baber v. Maria Pappas: Co-Counsel successful in obtaining the largest Indemnity Fund award in the State of Illinois totaling approximately $1,600,000.

Wolfe v. DeKalb County Collector; 2014 IL App (2d) 140223: Lead Counsel in the Appellate Court successfully defending a tax purchaser's right to seek a refund of monies paid for a certificate of purchase, saving an individual from a loss of over $300,000.

M.B. Financial Bank, N.A. v. CCPI, LLC966 N.E.2d 408 (2012):  Lead Counsel in the Appellate Court successfully voiding a tax deed to a commercial bank branch which saved the institution from a $3,000,000 loss.

Oxford Bank & Trust Co. v. Sabre Group, LLC: Lead Counsel in Cook County litigation successfully preventing the issuance of a tax deed saving a mortgage of over $2,000,000.
